FIR registered after deepfake video of Aamir Khan praising political party surfaces

The deep fake content has been taking all over the film industry in the last few months turning several celebrities the victims of some or other content. From Katrina Kaif to Rashmika Mandana to Kajol and Alia Bhatt. This edited content has been all over.  

Now, Aamir Khan's deep fake video has been taking the round where the actor is depicted praising a particular political party. As the video became viral in no time, the matter was quickly taken into action by the police. Resulting in the FIR being filed by the official from the actor's office against the unidentified individual.
  
The video clip is of 31 seconds  and features the symbol of Congress party with a text ‘Vote For Nyay, Vote For Congress,' written over it which can be heard in the background as well.

As per the official's statement from the actor's team it has been quoted, “He has dedicated his efforts to raising public awareness through Election Commission public awareness campaigns for many past elections. We are alarmed by the recent viral video alleging that Aamir Khan is promoting a particular political party. He would like to clarify that this is a fake video and totally untrue. He has reported the matter to various authorities related to this issue, including filing an FIR with the Cyber Crime Cell of the Mumbai Police. Mr. Khan would like to urge all Indians to come out and vote and be an active part of our electoral process," mentioned an entertainment website.

On the work front, Aamir recently turned the producer for Kiran Rao's directorial 'Laapataa Ladies' and will also produce Sunny Deol's upcoming starrer 'Lahore 1947.'
He will also star in 'Sitare Zameen Par' which he announced last year.
