Karan Johar confirms Student Of The Year series: Reema Maya will be directing the digital version

Karan Johar's campus drama, Student Of The Year, is a popular franchise produced by Dharma Productions. There are strong rumours that the filmmaker will take it forward in the coming years. After the humongous success of Student Of The Year (2012) and Student Of The Year 2 (2019), the buzz around the third part kept fans excited. While the fate of Student Of The Year 3 is yet to be decided, Dharma Productions has flagged off the digital series of the film.

Student Of The Year's digital version is in the making. It will be a long-format show directed by Reema Maya. The news was confirmed by Karan at the Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) in Chandigarh. He said, "Reema Maya will be directing the digital version of Student of the Year. But it will be her way and definitely not mine, because if I will enter Reema Maya’s world, then I will make it more of an illusion, which is what her name means. I just wanted it to be her voice. She made it her own series."

According to reports, Shanaya Kapoor will be marking her digital debut with Student Of The Year. However, an official announcement is awaited. She is the daughter of actor Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, one of the leads in the unscripted show, Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives. Shanaya was supposed to make her acting debut with Dharma Productions' Bedhadak. However, due to delays in production, she signed Mohanlal's Vrushabha which is a pan-India film.
