Aamir Khan on being an actor: Acting was far remote from my thoughts

Aamir Khan needs no introduction and has been in the film industry for decades. Not just impressing the audience with his acting skills, Aamir has also stepped into the shoes of a producer and has turned to be a producer for several films under his banner Aamir Khan Productions.

His recent production include Kiran Rao’s latest directorial Laapataa Ladies which released on March 1. Which is doing quite successful at the box office.

Despite his brilliance in both the fields. The actor revealed in one of his interviews that he had no intentions of becoming an actor in the beginning.

Aamir said, "As a child, I was shy, high-
strung, goofy, and awkward . Acting was far remote frommy thoughts, my 'filmi' connections
disillusioned me further. My dad  being a producer, paid the directors
and artists; yet, he had to regularly chase
them, as they would play musical chairs with
him before completing his films. Seeing these
unfavorable conditions, I vowed that I would
never become a producer or have anything to
do with films."

He added, "When I was in the XIl standard, Aditya
Bhattacharya approached me for his short
film, which he desired to send for the festival
and I said 'Yes' just for the fun of it. I enjoyed
the experience and it gradually grew on me
making me confident of the fact that I could
act.”

He concluded, "There were no problems at home when I
decided to become an actor, but I did get the
message from them that perhaps acting
wasn't so sensible a decision.”

Aamir will be next seen in Sitaare Zameen Par and will also produce Sunny Deol’s upcoming film Lahore 1947.
