Farah Khan opens the reason for casting Deepika Padukone in Om Shanti Om

Deepika Padukone, who was last seen in Siddharth Anand’s directorial Fighter opposite Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor, surely has her place on the list of the top actresses of Bollywood. Having made her debut back in 2007 with Om Shanti Om, the actress has come a long way and has been a part of several successful films.

In a recent conversation at Mukesh Chhabra’s show, filmmaker Farah Khan revealed the reason for casting Deepika in Om Shanti Om. She said, "To launch a hero is on another
level because who will give you the money? I launched her because Shah Rukh Khan was there. So, I could take that risk."

Farah further added that according to her the presence of the actress in Indian films is very important. According to her, Deepika seemed to have possessed all the required qualities. 

Directed by Farah Khan, Om Shanti Om released on November 9, 2007. It featured Shah Rukh Khan in the lead alongside Deepika. The film became a massive hit.
