Rajinikanth defends his daughter Aishwarya post her comment using word ‘Sanghi’: Her contention was that I am spiritual

Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya recently spoke about her father addressing him as ‘Sanghi’ post which she has received much criticism for the same. The superstar went on to clarify the same stating that she didn’t mean it to be a bad word and she only expressed her point of view referring to the actor as a spiritual person.

He said, “Aishwarya never said sanghi was a bad word. Her contention was that I am spiritual, and I love all religions but even then people call me sanghi.”

For the unversed, Aishwarya is directing a film Lal Salaam in which Rajinikanth will be acting. During the recent audio launch which took place on January 26 she was slammed by people for referring to her father as a ‘Sanghi.’

At the event she said, “If he was a ‘Sanghi’ he would have not acted in Lal Salaam. At the shooting spot, I was shown some memes in which my father was trolled. In some memes, people called him ‘Sanghi’. I didn’t even know the meaning of the word. When I asked my friends, they told me that supporters of a particular party are called ‘Sanghi’s I want to make it clear that Rajinikanth is not a Sanghi’. If you see the movie, you will realize it.”


Post this comment, she received much criticism from the public for the use of the word ‘Sanghi.’
