Varun Dhawan has joined forces with Jawan director Atlee for his upcoming film. Tentatively called VD18, the project also stars Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead. Recently, the makers shared a glimpse of the mahurat puja which was held in Mumbai a while ago. Now, it is time for the title announcement.
As per Central Board of Film Certification's certification, the title of VD18 is Baby John. The 54-second announcement teaser was granted a UA certificate on January 24. It is expected to release digitally on January 27.

Baby John is the official Hindi remake of the Tamil actioner, Theri. It was released in 2016 and was directed by Atlee. The film revolved around a former police officer trying to protect his daughter from his past enemies. Varun steps into the shoes of Thalapathy Vijay, whereas Keerthy and Wamiqa will essay roles originally played by Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson, respectively. Rajpal Yadav, and Sheeba Chadha have significant roles to play with a special appearance by Sanya Malhotra.
The actioner is directed by Kalees and produced by Priya Atlee and Murad Khetani.
