One of the biggest upcoming projects of Uttar Pradesh is that of Film City. As per the recent reports, Akshay Kumar's production company Cape of Good Films, Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects, Maddock Films and T-Series have submitted bids for the development of the same. Reports further suggested that Film City will be constructed on a land of 1000 acres which will include 740 acres for filming, 40 acres for film institutes and 120 acres for an amusement park and retail while the rest of 100 acres for commercial use.

The Film City project was announced in September 2020 with an investment of over Rs 10 crores and all phases are expected to be completed by 2028-2029. It will also be in proximity of a few km to Jewar Airport and the plans of pod taxi service available between the airport and Film City are also taking place.

Besides, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath mentioned about the government's plan to include a high-capacity data centre along with all pre-production and post-production infrastructure including VFX and digital technology.
