Rhea Chakraborty on her jail experience: My life was in the worst hell

Rhea Chakraborty was arrested in September 2020 by the Narcotics Control Bureau for her alleged involvement in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. After the arrest, the actress had to spend 28 in jail and was released in October. In a recent interview, she went on to speak about her experience in jail.

Rhea said, “Due to COVID rules, I had to be in solitary confinement for 14 days. I was the only one in the room. I was asked if I’d like to have lunch. I was so hungry and tired that I ate whatever was given to me.” 

She further added, “Mental trauma is so much harder that the physical trauma starts paling in front of it. You think ‘Ganda bathroom toh manage kar lungi’.
Rhea also narrated some incidents from her jail period which were very brutal. The actress concluded about her experience being the most ‘tragic’ and ‘challenging’ part in her life, she said, “At that point, yes, my life was in the worst hell it could have been.”

Rhea and Sushant were in a relationship. The actor was found dead on June 14 in his Mumbai apartment. The actress was accused of supplying the drugs and was released after 28 days on bail post her arrest. Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty was also put behind bars and got bail much later.
