Nora Fatehi reacts to viral video featuring her holding Indian flag upside down: I'm that person who was created in India

Nora Fatehi has made a mark in Bollywood as a performer. It’s been more than a year now since she performed at the prestigious FIFA World Cup 2022 ceremony. Becoming the first Bollywood star in history to do it.

Recently, a mini-documentary on the actress’ YouTube Channel has been released which follows the journey of an actress right from growing up in Toronto, Canada to reaching where she is now.

The documentary also goes on to shed light on the controversy that was stirred up when fated winds flipped over the Indian flag while she held it, for barely 2 seconds. The actress opened up for the first time reflecting her thoughts on the incident; pointing out that it was irresponsible how the media choose to highlight an unintentional incident while overlooking the bigger achievement and thought behind representing the country to a global audience.

Expressing her concern for the controversy and love for the country, she said, “I’m not Nora Fatehi from Westview Centennial Secondary School anymore, neither am I Nora who goes to Morocco every summer with her family. I am Nora Fatehi and like that’s a new person. And that person was born in India!”. She goes on to say, “I am there (on a global stage) today because of this country and the people!”

Nora made her acting debut with Roar: Tigers of the Sunderbans (2013). She got major recognition after her dance on the song Dilbar from Satyameva Jayate (2018). Nora has also participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 9 and Bigg Boss 9.
