Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja better known as Dhanush has always managed to bring something new with his roles and that’s why fans love him. And this time, the actor is set to surprise the audience once again in a completely different avatar. If the reports are to be believed, Dhanush will portray the legendary Indian musician and composer Ilaiyaraaja in his upcoming biopic.
As per the reports, the actor has confirmed playing the role and the shooting for the film will begin in 2024 and the release is slated for 2025. The report also mentioned that it will be a huge project and is said to be produced by Connekkt Media.
The source further added that the son of the composer wanted Dhanush to portray this role. It mentioned, “A few months back Yuvan Shankar Raja had said that he would love to see Dhanush play his father Ilaiyaraaja in his biopic and the stars seem to have aligned. This is the first biopic Dhanush will be seen in and it's an iconic role. The Captain Miller star is one of Ilaiyaraaja's biggest fans and this role will definitely bag him some awards I think.”
Ilaiyaraaja has his career spanning for more than 5 decades and has composed over 8,500 songs and has been a receiver of Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award.
