Sridevi had seen rushes of Dhadak when she was alive; Janhvi Kapoor was the first choice for Kalank: Boney Kapoor

Sridevi was undoubtedly one of the most versatile actresses of the film industry. Starting as a child actor the actress went on to act in more than 80 films over her career spanning four decades. The unexpected demise of the actress came as a shock to many back in 2018. The same year, her eldest daughter Jahnvi Kapoor made her debut with the film Dhadak where she starred opposite Ishaan Khattar.

In a recent interview, Sridevi's husband, ace producer Boney Kapoor revealed that the legendary actress did actually see some glimpses of her daughter’s debut film. He said, "We had seen the rushes of Dhadak when Sridevi was alive. So, she had seen her daughter on screen."

Boney further added, "Khushi (Kapoor, the couple's younger daughter) had auditioned, too, and after Janhvi's audition, she got a scholarship at the New York Film Academy," revealed Boney.

He further went on to reveal that Janhvi was the first choice for the film Kalank and Sridevi was supposed to act in it. Boney added that Karan Johar came with the proposal earlier and the film was supposed to be named Shiddat. Apparently, Karan wanted to launch Janhvi and she was supposed to be in Alia Bhatt’s role and Sridevi in the role that was done by Madhuri Dixit!
