Neeraj Chopra scripted  another historic achievement on Sunday by becoming the first ever Indian athlete to win the gold medal at Javelin throw final event that took place in Budapest. During his second attempt in the finals, he managed to launch his javelin at the distance of 88.17 metres, making it the highest score at the event. 

After this historical victory, the athlete have been getting congratulatory notes from all over including the wish from the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.

Back in 2018, the athlete won gold at the Asian Games - Men's javelin throw. Neeraj was also the first Indian Olympic track and field gold medalist in Tokyo in 2021, and won silver at the World’s Championship in 2022.
