Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has been on a winning streak. And this time, its double celebration! Today, at the 69th National Film Awards, his film (as a producer) Shershaah received the prestigious National Award - Feature Films: Special Jury category. This turned out to be the second National Award win for Dharma after Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) where it won for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
Earlier this year, Karan made his comeback with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani after 7 long years. The release of the film also marked Karan’s 25 years as a filmmaker. RRKPK, a stellar box office hit, was instrumental in bringing the audience back to theatres, making the cash registers ringing and how.
Last year, Karan was the recipient of the fourth-highest civilian honour, Padma Shri award for his contribution to the field of performing arts.
