Gadar 2 got released on August 11, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead, it's a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster - Gadar.The fans have been going nostalgic about the much-awaited release and the best part of the film is that the star cast remained the same. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film has already crossed Rs 40 crores at the box office on the first day of its release, making it the second biggest opener after Pathaan this year.
Salman Khan took his Instagram account to share a congratulations note for the actor. Salman uploaded a poster of the film with the caption“Dhai kilo ka haath equals chalis cr ki opening. Sunny paaji is killing it. Congrats to the entire team of Gadar 2.”
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh also shared the figures on his Instagram and predicting the film to be a superhit in upcoming days.
The film follows the story of Tara Singh (Sunny) who returns to Pakistan to bring his son Charanjeet (Utkarsh Sharma) amidst the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971.
