Stree, released in 2018, was a box-office success. Headlined by Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee, it was directed by Amar Kaushik. Now, after its humongous success, Maddock Films greenlit Stree 2 with Jio Studios. The film went on floors in Chanderi today.
In a teaser video, Maddock Films confirmed that Stree 2 will be bigger than the prequel with several twists and spooky turns. The caption on Instagram read, "Ek baar phir aatank! filming begins! Aa rahi hai woh- August 2024!"
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films produce Stree 2. The cast of the prequel returns. The film will release in theatres on August 31, 2024.
