Varun Dhawan and Gigi Hadid shared a fun moment on the stage at the NMACC's gala event last night. The actor lifted her in his arms, turned her around and then kissed her before the stint ended. However, this didn't go down well with a section of people on social media. Accusing Varun of kissing her without her consent, a netizen slammed the actor. 

Now, Gigi cryptically responded to the criticism received by Varun. Sharing a video of their act, she thanked the actor for making her Bollywood dreams come true. She extended her support to him and wrote, "@varundvn making my Bollywood dreams come true (sic)" and added laughing emojis.

In a now-deleted tweet, the Twitter user wrote, "If you are a woman, you are not safe anywhere with anyone. Even if you are Gigi Hadid, invited to a party with an "elite" crowd, guys like Varun Dhawan will randomly pick you up and kiss you without your consent, all in the name of fun. Disgusting."

Varun clarified in a tweet, "I guess today you woke up and decided to be woke. So lemme burst ur bubble and tell u it was planned for her to be on stage so find a new Twitter cause to vent about rather then going out and doing something about things."

The NMACC gala was attended by several B-Town and Hollywood stars. It was held a day after the grand opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai.
