Guneet Monga returned to India with an Oscar in her hand. She won the prestigious trophy with director Kartiki Gonsalves for The Elephant Whisperers under the Best Documentary Short Film category. Now, post her glorious victory at the 95th Academy Awards, the producer visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
Guneet visited the holy temple with chef-turned-filmmaker Vikas Khanna and his mother. The chef's mother drove the producer to the Golden Temple. From receiving her at the airport to the temple visit, Vikas and his mother were with Guneet.
Sharing a video on Instagram, Vikas wrote, "From being a dreamer to becoming one of the most powerful producers in the World. Here it to you Guneet, you made every Indian wealthier. My Ma had said 2 months ago that if Guneet wins an Oscar, I’ll drive her to The Golden Temple."
The Elephant Whisperers won an Oscar by defeating Haulout, How Do You Measure a Year?, The Martha Mitchell Effect and Stranger at the Gate.
