Actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik passed away in Gurugram at the age of 66 this morning. His friend and colleague Anupam Kher confirmed the news of his sudden demise. Satish died after suffering a heart attack in the NCR. He was visiting his friend in Gurugram when his health deteriorated and he asked his driver to take him to the hospital. However, he suffered a heart attack in the car and could not be saved.
In 2021, Satish's one of the closest friends in Bollywood, Neena Gupta had published her autobiography Sach Kahun Toh in which she revealed that her actor and filmmaker friend Satish had offered to marry her when she was pregnant with cricketer Vivian Richards’ child out of wedlock. In her autobiography Sach Kahun Toh, Neena spoke about her long friendship with Satish and revealed that when she became pregnant with cricketer Viv Richards’ child, the actor suggested to her that she pass the child off as his after getting married.

Neena was unmarried at the time, anticipating backlash for having a child. He told her, “Don’t worry, if the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it’s mine and we’ll get married. Nobody will suspect a thing.” In an interview shortly afterwards, Satish spoke about the situation, and said that he and Neena had been friends since 1975, and that only a few people knew about her pregnancy. He said he offered to help because he didn’t want her alone.
He had then told a leading daily, “I was concerned about not letting her feel alone. At the end of the day, that’s what friends are for, right?” He said that his offer to marry her ‘was a mix of humour, concern, respect, and support’, and that he told her, “Main hoon na, tu chinta kyu karti hai?”
