Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani never owned up to the dating rumours and kept their relationship under wraps before tying the knot on February 7 at Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The two fell head-over-heels in love with each other while essaying the roles of real-life couple Capt.Vikram Batra and Dimple Cheema in their film Shershaah. Now, in a recent interview, Sidharth and Kiara spoke about the film and their married life. While Sidharth joked that the film not only brought him the love of the audience but also gave him a ‘wife’ and it was ‘meant to be’, Kiara said that married life was ‘wonderful’ and the ‘glow is real’.
In a recent interview, the lovebirds opened up, for the first time, on finding love and getting married to one another. Talking about how the love story depicted in Shershaah found permanence in their lives, Sidharth said, “It felt like the real Vikram and Dimple, in some parallel universe, came together. Shershaah has given me so much love and a wife too, so what else do you need from a film? (laughs) I think it was meant to be. Much like us, Vishal Batra (Vikram Batra’s win brother) was extremely emotional and happy when he came to our wedding.” Kiara chimed in and said, “The glow is real. This new life is wonderful. I’m very happy.”
As Sidharth won an award for the film and having received it from Vikram Batra’s brother Vishal Batra, he further said, “I’ve been here for only ten years. Shershaah will always remain a very special film to me. Through the film, the reel has turned into real. It’s an unforgettable film and experience, and I’m grateful to Captain Vikram Batra’s family for trusting us and to the audience for giving us that love both onscreen and off-screen, today. I’m so close to the Batra family. We met on so many occasions. Our love for Captain Batra lingers on.” Vishal Batra and his family had attended Sid and Kiara’s wedding reception in Mumbai as well.
Sidharth and Kiara’s first wedding pictures had a Shershaah connection too. Sharing first pictures from their wedding as newlyweds, the couple had written on social media, “Ab humari permanent booking hogayi hai. We seek your blessings and love on our journey ahead.” It is a dialogue from Shershaah.
