After Kiara Advani shared a dreamy video from her wedding ceremony to Sidharth Malhotra on Thursday, everyone went gaga over their looks, wardrobe and the location. However, what stood out was the pure love that could be seen on their faces as they exchanged garlands at Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan on February 7, 2023. Everything in the video looks magical but it was the song Ranjha from their film Shershaah playing in the background that took everyone’s breath away and that was because the soulful track was specially rewritten for their wedding.
The Wedding Filmer, who documented the couple’s wedding shared the video on Instagram and revealed how Kiara was adamant about having the song play at their wedding despite it being a sad track from the film.
The Wedding Filmer gave a background on how the lyrics of the song were rewritten to make it peppy and happy and wrote, “Very few humans are so generous with their love that they are willing to share it with the world. She wanted to walk towards Sidharth on 'Ranjha', which is their song. 'But it's a sad song!' I argued. 'But it's our song!' She maintained! So we rewrote the lyrics with respect to fit the situation we were in, and suddenly, everyone's dreams came true! #twfclassics #theweddingfilmer #twfmusic."
Sidharth and Kiara, who fell in love during the shooting of Shershaah played the roles of PVC awardee and Kargil war hero Captain Vikram Batra and his girlfriend Dimple Cheema. The newlyweds hosted a wedding reception for close friends and family members at The Leela Palace in Delhi on February 9 and will be hosting another reception for the film fraternity tomorrow at St.Regis in Mumbai.
