RRR director SS Rajamouli becomes first Telugu filmmaker to appear on Late Night with Seth Meyers

SS Rajamouli has become one of the most sought-after directors post the humongous global success of his film RRR. While the filmmaker is eyeing Oscar as well as BAFTA nominations for the magnum opus, he is leaving no stone unturned in giving the best shot at promotions. Now, as all eyes are on Golden Globes, where RRR scored two nominations - Best Non-English Language Film and Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu, Rajamouli will be appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Rajamouli is the first Telugu director to make his US talk show debut. The show is said to premiere on January 9 (US time zone). Confirming the news, film critic J Hurtado tweeted, "Can't make it to the @ChineseTheatres screening of #RRRMovie tomorrow? Don't worry, #SSRajamouli will be guesting on @LateNightSeth so you can still get your SSR fix! Someone record it for us!"

Under Beyond Fest’s special campaign ‘encoRRRe’, RRR was scheduled to be screened at the TCL Chinese IMAX theatre on January 9. Breaking all records, the tickets for the show, which seats 932 people, were sold out in just 98 seconds.

RRR's song Naatu Naatu has been shortlisted for Oscars 2023 in the Original Song category. It also featured on BAFTA's longlist in the Best Film (Non-English) category.
