'Would need a little practice, maybe a month,’ says Ajay Devgn on recreating his iconic Phool Aur Kaante split for its remake

Ajay Devgn has expressed a wish that his debut film Phool Aur Kaante be remade by someone. The actor lit up the silver screen in his debut film with his iconic and cult introductory scene where he pulled off a split stunt on two bikes. Ajay said that he will be able to redo the stunt once again with a month’s practice.

He shared a short video clip from one of his interviews and tweeted, “Phool Aur Kaante Returns has a good ring to it. What do y’all think?” However, not all his fans were sold at the idea, one user said, “Nope, not every film is Drishyam,” while a few suggested a sequel rather than a remake.

In the video, Ajay was asked about a “remake-able film” from his repertoire, to this the actor prompltly responds with, “I would like somebody to remake Phool Aur Kaante.” The interviewer then asked him whether he will be able to ace the iconic split. The interviewer said, “Yeah? Tough, must be difficult to do that. The cameras used to be very different back then.” When asked about the split, Ajay said, “I would need a little practice, mahina dedh mahina (a month or so), I think so. Koshish karni padegi (Will have to try and see).”

Phool Aur Kaante was directed by Kuku Kohli and also starred Madhoo and Amrish Puri. Both Madhoo and Ajay made their Bollywood debuts with the film. The iconic stunts were choreographed by Ajay’s father the Viru Devgan.
