Charles Sobhraj, the notorious criminal and killer who was serving a life sentence at the Central Jail in Kathmandu, Nepal, since 2003 for the murder of a US tourist in 1975 in Nepal, was released on Friday. He was sent back to his home country France. While reporting the news, a leading publication confused actor Randeep Hooda with Charles.
The publication used Randeep's still from the film Main Aur Charles in which he played the role of Charles. On spotting the error, the actor had a rather hilarious reaction. Sharing a picture of the article, he wrote, "Is that a back handed compliment or did you genuinely get confused between the “real” and “reel” Charles Sobhraj?"

Randeep underwent extreme physical transformation to play the role of Charles in Main Aur Charles. Apart from physical transformation, he sought special permission and went to jail to meet Sobhraj as a part of his prep for the 2015 film.
Workwise, Randeep was last seen in Netflix's CAT.
