Akshay Kumar poses in faux fur, PETA India says 'we love this look'

Akshay Kumar often supports good causes and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is one of them. PETA India, based in Mumbai, was launched in January 2000. It operates under the simple principle that animals are not ours to experiment on, eat, wear, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way, while also educating policymakers and the public about animal abuse and promoting an understanding of the right of all animals to be treated with respect.

Now, AK has won appreciation from PETA once again for wearing faux fur instead of real fur that's made from animals. On December 13, the actor shared a new photo from the sets of his upcoming film Selfiee wherein he is seen in a dapper multi-colour faux fur jacket. The actor captioned the photo as, "My mantra for today - Garmi, humidity aur faux fur…Sab chalega, bas kaam kar, kaam kar  Shooting a mast new song for #Selfiee. See you in cinemas, February 24." PETA India was quick enough to pay attention to it and they praised the actor saying, "Thank you for wearing #fauxfur and looking fabulous! We love this look"

PETA India's goal is to reduce the sum total of animal suffering. For people who want the look of real fur, faux fur can be a good alternative. For those who do wear fakes, PETA has pins and stickers to help people make it clear that their jackets and other items weren’t made from animals.

Akshay was even named its 'Most Beautiful Vegetarian Celebrity' in 2021. For Akshay, 'health matters most' and the actor relies solely on a plant-based diet for protein requirements. The true-blue animal lover also makes a point to speak up for animals of all species, and raises awareness around animal cruelty on several public platforms.
