The trailer of Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty’s highly-anticipated film Cirkus was released today much the excitement of fans leading to frenzy. The rollicking, rib-tickling ride sees Ranveer and Varun Sharma in double roles and promises to be a treat just in time for Christmas. However, what caught our attention was the cameo of Ranveer’s wife and actress Deepika Padukone in a song in the film.
This is not the first time that Deepika has come onboard to support her husband. She also played the role of Romi Dev in Kabir Khan’s ’83 and even turned co-producer on Ranveer’s film, in which he played the lead role of former cricketer Kapil Dev. Her role was small yet pivotal in the film. Also, Deepika’s association with Cirkus can be attributed to the fact that she shares a great rapport with director Rohit Shetty with whom she worked in Chennai Express.

Cirkus will be second guest appearance for Deepika this year, as she was also seen in Ayan Mukerji’s directorial Brahmastra Part One: Shiva that was headlined by Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. She was speculated to be the Jal astra and played the role of Ranbir’s mother in the film, as spotted by eagle-eyed fans.
Cirkus is directed by Rohit Shetty and besides Ranveer and Varun also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sanjay Mishra, Ashwini Kalsekar, Johny Lever and Siddharth Jadhav. Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar & T-Series presents Cirkus. It is slated to release on December 23, 2022.
