Akshay Kumar as UK PM Rishi Sunak in The Crown or his biopic? Netizens have a field day with the fan-casting, share Namaste London clip as audition tape

With all the buzz and euphoria around Rishi Sunak taking office as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Twitter users are back to their mischief-making ways. Targeting Akshay Kumar and his plethora of films harping on Indianness and government schemes, netizens had a hearty laugh suggesting that Akshay will take on the role of Sunak in some future season of the hit Netflix show The Crown or maybe latter’s biopic.

The Crown is based on Queen Elizabeth II’s life, her reign and the major milestones in British history and politics. Several netizens quipped that Akshay would be the perfect choice to play the first Indian-origin PM. However, the possibility of this happening is bleak as the show is scheduled to end after its 6th season and its yet unclear whether the death of the monarch and her husband Prince Philip will be incorporated in the show or not. Sunak became the first Prime Minister under King Charles III’s reign and might not be included in the series narrative.

However, all these nitty-gritty did not deter the Twitterati who had a field day poking fun at Akshay and Sunak. They even shared a clip of Akshay’s Namaste London and wrote, “Akshay Kumar auditioning to play Rishi Sunak in his biopic." Not too long ago, Twitterati had a hearty laugh over Akshay’s resemblance to Paddy Considine’s character of King Viserys Targaryen in House of the Dragon.

Meanwhile, many are also having a laugh at the striking resemblance former cricketer Ashish Nehra bears to Sunak. On the other hand, Akshay is riding high on the success of his last release Ram Setu which is doing good business at the box office.
