Elnaaz Norouzi comes out in support of Iranian women amid protest against Iran's morality police, strips in latest video to 'promote freedom of choice'

Elnaaz Norouzi has been an active voice in the protest against Iran's 'morality police'. The Iranian actress regularly shares several videos and pictures on Instagram amid anti-hijab protests in the country. Now, in her latest video, Elnaaz came out in support of Iranian women by stripping several layers of clothes proving the point that she and every female should be given the freedom to wear what she wants. She went from hijab to bikini in the video.

Sharing the video, Elnaaz wrote, "Every Woman, anywhere in the world, regardless of where she is from, should have the right to wear whatever she desires and when or wherever she desires to wear it. No man nor any other woman has the right to judge her or ask her to dress otherwise. Everyone has different views and beliefs and they have to be respected. Democracy means the power to decide… Every Woman should have the power to decide over her own body! I am not promoting nudity, I am promoting freedom of choice!"

The anti-hijab protests in Iran were sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old girl in the custody of the morality police. In an interview with a news portal, Elnaaz spoke about hijab being forced in Iran. She said, "I am sad and furious about the anti-hijab protest because I myself was stopped by morality police couple of years back when I was in Tehran. I was taken away for "re-education", as they called it. Where Mahsa was taken (for re-education), where she must have been beaten."

A couple of weeks ago, Elnaaz told a leading daily, "I am not able to reach my family. Every way of communication is blocked. It is kind of retarded, what’s going on over there. Unless we be the voice and make sure that it comes to everyone’s notice, nothing is going to change."
