Shraddha Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan may be the fresh new pair in tinsel town. Shraddha, who is flying high with Luv Ranjan’s film opposite Ranbir Kapoor and also has Nikkhil Advani’s Naagib up her sleeves, is apparently in the running for Tezaab remake. The film is being produced by Murad Khetani and Kartik is being considered to play the male lead in the film. Now, an online portal confirmed that Shraddha is in talks to play the female lead opposite Kartik in the remake of Anil Kapoor’s and Madhuri Dixit’s iconic film.
The online portal quoted a source that said, “The makers were looking for a reliable name and a fresh Jodi for the cast of Tezaab remake. Shraddha and Kartik have not shared onscreen space together so far and if things work out, this is a pair they would like to bet on." Reportedly, Shraddha is considering the offer and is yet to give her nod to the project.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kartik is on a roll after giving a blockbuster hit in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The film also starred Kiara Advani and Tabu and has crossed Rs 200 crores at the box office worldwide. A sequel has been hinted by the producers. He will also be seen in Shehzada, Freddy, Captain India and Satyaprem Ki Katha.
The 1988 film Tezaab was directed and produced by N Chandra and also starred Chunky Pandey and Kiran Kumar in pivotal roles besides Anil and Madhuri. The film was a blockbuster hit and established the two leads as the reigning stars of Bollywood in late 80s and 90s with the song Ek Do Teen becoming Madhuri’s signature song of her career.
