Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor’s highly-awaited film Shamshera’s trailer is going to be unveiled soon in three Indian cities. However, before the big trailer launch, the makers of the film have released a teaser of Shamshera today that increases the excitement for the period drama manifold.
The teaser shows Ranbir as the titular character of Shamshera, a fearless warrior who must rise to save his tribe from the exploits of a brutal tyrant played by Sanjay Dutt. The official logline of the film reads, “Witness the story of a man who became a slave, then a leader & then a legend.” For the first time, Ranbir can be seen in a action avatar and wields a pollaxe while leading his men on horseback.

The story of Shamshera is set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general Shudh Singh (Dutt). This is the story of a man who became a slave, a slave who became a leader and then a legend for his tribe. He relentlessly fights for his tribe's freedom and dignity. His name is Shamshera. The high-octane, adrenaline-pumping entertainer is set in the 1800s in the heartland of India.
Shamshera’s trailer will be out this Friday on June 24. The visually grand film is directed by Karan Malhotra and is slated to release on July 22 theatrically in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu. Shamshera is produced by Aditya Chopra under his production banner Yash Raj Films aka YRF.
