Akshay Kumar has stepped into Suriya's shoes for the Hindi remake of Sudha Kongara's Tamil blockbuster Soorarai Pottru. The film went on floors on April 25 and the official title is yet to be confirmed by the makers. While the shoot is in progress, Suriya gave fans a surprise by confirming his cameo in the untitled film.
Suriya, who is producing the film, posed for a picture with Akshay with an aircraft in the background. The South star wrote, "@akshaykumar sir to see you as #vir was nostalgic! @sudha_kongara can see our story beautifully coming alive again #maara Enjoyed every minute with team #sooraraipootru Hindi in a brief cameo!"
Radhika Madan will be seen playing the lead opposite Akshay Kumar. In the Tamil version, Aparna Balamurali played the female lead. She was signed as Suriya's partner named Sundari or Bommi.
Soorarai Pottru's Hindi remake is being directed by Sudha Kongara who also helmed the original. Suriya and Jyotika's 2D Entertainment and Abundantia Entertainment have partnered to produce the film’s remake in Hindi.
