Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan receive threat letter; Mumbai Police registers FIR, starts investigation

Salman Khan and his father, veteran writer-producer Salim Khan have received a threat letter as informed by Mumbai Police to the media on Sunday. A subsequent FIR has been filed at Bandra police station against unknown person(s) in the case and investigation is underway. The letter threatened to kill both of them. On early Sunday morning, Salim Khan on Sunday followed his morning routine of taking a walk at Bandra Bandstand and when he was sitting on a bench at the promenade an unidentified man handed him a letter with a threat to kill him and Salman, as per a Mumbai Police official.

Later, the veteran writer informed the police about the letter with the help of his security personnel and an FIR was registered under section 506-II (Criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Bandra police station. The Police are investigating the matter further and are also checking the CCTV footage in the area. The news of the threat comes a few days after it was reported that Salman’s security was beefed up following the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala after Lawrence Bishnoi emerged as the key accused.
