The much-awaited 75th Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 17 to May 28. Last week, India was announced as the official country of honour at the Marche Du Films, also called Cannes Film Market. For the unversed, it is held on the sidelines of the Cannes Film Festival. While R Madhavan's film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will premiere at the festival, several Bollywood celebrities will be walking the red carpet.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur will be present at the 75th Cannes Film Festival with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, music maestro A R Rahman, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and actor Pooja Hegde.
Apart from them, folk singer Mame Khan, actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia and Vani Tripathi, two-time Grammy-winning composer Rickey Kej, and CBFC chairman Prasoon Joshi are also part of the Indian contingent to the festival.
R Madhavan's film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will premiere on May 19 at the festival. Deepika Padukone has been appointed as the jury member. She left for French Riviera during the early hours of Tuesday.
