Ananya Panday knows how to set the glam bar high. Give her any outfit, the fashion police are assured that the young starlet will pull it off effortlessly. After raising the mercury with her Gehraiyaan promotional looks, Ananya made heads turn at Dharma Productions' CEO Apoorva Mehta's 50th birthday party on March 17.
Ananya wore a black mesh Aadnevik gown that came with a centre slit and a sexy corset detailing. She rounded her look off with a pair of diamond studs. Ananya received a thumbs-up from fashion critics but trolls, as always, just came on social media to criticise her.
A certain section of hate-filled netizens slammed Ananya for her outfit choice. Some even compared her to social media sensation Urfi Javed, who is often in news for her unconventional and experimental fashion.
Now, reacting to all naysayers, Ananya's actor-father Chunky Panday told a leading daily, "We, as parents, have never told her what to wear and what not to. We brought up both of our daughters quite well and they are very sensible. Ananya is in the show business today, and she needs to look glamorous. She should put her best foot forward and dress up. He further added, "One thing I know for sure about my girls is that there’s a certain kind of innocence in them. I’m sure they can wear anything and carry them off without looking vulgar."
Chunky said Ananya has now learnt to laugh at herself. The actor shared, "Getting laughed at for what you’re wearing is very common. We should take these things as a compliment. And if her dad doesn’t mind, then I don’t think anyone else should mind."
