The second trailer of John Abraham, Rakul Preet Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez's Attack was released today at an event attended by the media and fans. The film, directed by Lakshya Raj Anand, will be releasing in theatres on April 1. During the event, John spoke about Attack facing competition from SS Rajamouli's RRR, which is releasing on March 25.
"Just 30 minutes before the event, I asked Sanjay Marudhar (head of Pen Maurdhar, distributors of Attack) about the number of screens. We have been promised a certain number of screens. I have immense respect for SS Rajamouli sir and his cinema but we have that much respect for what we have done. We are definitely not No. 2 to anyone and I think we are no. 1 on our week," John said amid claps and cheers.
Jayantilal Gada added, "Every film has its own destiny. Even in the past, two films have clashed at the box office and have performed exceptionally well. Bahubali: The Beginning earned (approx.) Rs. 100 crores at the box office whereas Baahubali 2: The Conclusion did a business of around Rs. 500 crores. Attack is just like that."
Attack is certainly getting a part 2 and the team is ready with the script. Talking about planning the film's part 2 before part 1's release, John said, "We intend to make a part 2 and we have a script ready but we don't want to comment when we want to go ahead with it. When can make a part 2 only when your studio producer is on board. I had the same question but Jayantibhai said, "Let's sign Attack: Part 2 before Attack: Part 1's release." That was his level of confidence. I don't have much idea about commercial success and analytics because I am not a trade expert or critic. I don't understand this but one thing I can say is we have made a very good film."
