Asha Bhosle looks back at 'bachpan ke din' with 'Didi' Lata Mangeshkar

Lata Mangeshkar has left behind a musical legacy that can never be matched. On Sunday, she bid adieu to her siblings, family members, friends, film fraternity and fans. Lata Didi, as fans often called her, passed away at the age of 92 at Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital. 

After cremating the nightingale of India, Asha Bhosle looked back at 'bachpan ke din' with her 'Didi' Lata Mangeshkar. The veteran singer shared a black and white throwback picture from childhood days on Instagram. Remembering her elder sister, Asha tai wrote, "Bachpan ke din bhi kya din the. Asha tai attended Lata Didi's funeral and looked inconsolable. Her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle stayed close to her throughout the ritual. 

Lata Didi was admitted to the hospital in January after testing positive for COVID-19 followed by pneumonia. Days later, she was taken off ventilator support after showing signs of recovery. However, on Saturday, her health deteriorated and due to that, she was put on the ventilator again. In a statement, doctors said Lata Didi suffered multi-organ failure and chest congestion.
