Lata Mangeshkar was India's most revered singer and an inspiration to the younger generation. Known as the queen of melody and a nightingale, Indians would often look up to her as the Goddess of music and singing. Be it bhakti geet, patriotic songs or commercial Bollywood songs, she made every rendition immortal.
While Lata Didi, in her later years, didn't record or perform much, she made an exception by recording a special rendition of Gayatri Mantra and Ganesh Stuti for Mukesh and Nita Ambani's daughter Isha Ambani's wedding with Anand Piramal in 2018. It also had a special message for the couple and it was played during their wedding ceremony.

Lata Didi, 92, passed away in Mumbai this morning. Her mortal remains will be taken to her Peddar Road residence before heading to Shivaji Park for the funeral.
