India's nightingale, Lata Mangeshkar, passed away this morning at Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital. In January, she was admitted to the hospital due to COVID-19 but after seeking treatment, she had recovered. However, on Saturday, her condition deteriorated and she was put on the ventilator again.
Lata didi's funeral will take place at Dadar's Shivaji Park. It is not clear whether the last rites will be performed today. Reportedly, her mortal remains will be kept at Shivaji Park for people to pay their last respects.
Lata Didi is survived by her siblings- Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Usha Mangeshkar and Meena Khadikar.
