Tanishaa Mukerji returns with slick actioner 'Code Name Abdul', film to release on December 10

In what can be deemed her comeback vehicle, Tanishaa Mukerji is all set to slay. The actress will be seen next in the slick action thriller Code Name Abdul. The film. directed by Eshwar Gunturu, revolves around a secret mission assigned to RAW. Tanishaa headlines the film that also stars alongside debutant actor Akku Kulhari and Ashok Chaudhary. With a string of theatrical releases reigning the silver screens, the makers have decided to release the film on December 10.

Having busied herself with creative aspects of films in the last few years, Tanishaa wanted her next film to be an adventure. Getting the chance to play a part that she has never attempted before, Tanisha is thrilled the audience will get to see a new side of her. The actress said, “I have always done lighter films, even breezy ones. Action is something that needs a whole new skill set. I play a mysterious Muslim woman named Salma. Over the last few years, I have tried to evolve as an artist. This was a preparation-intensive role and I have ensured that I do my best at it.”

Director Eshwar Gunturu added, "We needed an actor from whom the audience doesn't expect something like this. Tanishaa has delivered a thunderous performance. She nailed the action and absorbed the details of the character with great precision. I can't wait for the world to see her on-screen. It's a special film for us and we are glad to be coming in theatres. It's the kind of film that's designed for the big screen experience."

Besides doing a fair share of stunts in the film, the project requires a performer with a flair. Dealing with a complex story, the makers are planning a grand release. Designed as a cool actioner, the film is already generating noise.
