Kirron Kher is a true fighter. The actress turned politician was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, in November 2020 and she has been taking treatment for the same. Despite the side-effects of the treatment, Kirron, like a thorough professional, is working virtually. Recently, she shared pictures of herself inaugurating oxygen plants in Chandigarh, but virtually.
Now, in an interview with a leading daily, Kirron said she is doing much better. The 69 years old told, "I’ve been working even when I was in the hospital, going through treatment. I’ve been in touch with people on my phone all along. In fact, I recently inaugurated an oxygen plant in Chandigarh, virtually. But my doctor isn’t letting me travel anywhere, especially by air, since my immunity is slightly compromised due to the treatment."
She further added that it is not an ideal situation to be in but one has to learn to deal with it. "It’s not the ideal situation to be in. Par yeh zindagi hai. One learns to deal with them and carry on. There’s no way out except to treat it. Nobody likes going through the treatment or its side effects," Kirron said.
She shared, "Some people get cured and some don’t. Even the doctors don’t know how and why it happened. Medical science doesn’t really have a concrete answer. I would much rather not have it. But it’s something I had to accept."
Kirron was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2020 when she suffered a broken left arm. The news broke in April this year when Chandigarh BJP president Arun Sood spoke about it at an event. Kirron's actor-husband Anupam Kher confirmed the news and requested fans to pray for her speedy recovery. In June, Kirron made an appearance in her son Sikandar Kher's Instagram video in which she asked him to get married.
