Writer Kanika Dhillon called out a Bollywood news website for putting out a 'defaming and irresponsible' article about her. A news portal filed a story of how Kanika Dhillon has been replaced by Abhijat Joshi for Rajkumar Hirani's film with Shah Rukh Khan. However, the news was untrue and hence, Kanika clarified the same on Twitter.
The news website's quote read, “Kanika Dhillon and Rajkumar Hirani were trying to crack the script for a while, however, things didn’t work out and eventually, Hirani’s frequent collaborator, Abhijat Joshi took the responsibility of writing. He has masterfully crafted the screenplay of the immigration story over the last one year and things are officially locked now."
Kanika not only rubbished the report but also warned the site of legal action. Replying to the particular tweet of the story, Kanika wrote on Twitter, "Glad writers r making headlines - but irresponsible n defaming articles about anyone without exact fact checks r ILLEGAL.Other leading sites have responsibly removed this article N shown positive way forward. Kindly remove @BOWorldwide as this invites legal recourse. Thanku"
