Anushka Sharma shares Zakir Khan's post on celebrity deaths becoming a 'tamasha'; Gauahar Khan & Zareen Khan slam media houses for insensitive coverage of Sidharth Shukla's funeral

As a video surfaced on social media which shows how Shehnaaz Gill, the rumoured girlfriend of late Sidharth Shukla, and her brother Shehbaaz are followed and pushed around as a crying Shehnaaz runs after Sidharth's hearse, several Bollywood actors condemned the act and said such behaviour from the paparazzi is 'heartless'.

Anushka Sharma shared comedian Zakir Khan's post - a verse, written in Hindi, speaking about how a celebrity's death is turned into a ‘tamasha (a show)'. He appeared to be referring to the media coverage of Sidharth's funeral on Friday.

Gauahar Khan took to her Instagram Stories and wrote, "This is shameful! The media houses all alike should be ashamed of this kind of coverage! Hang your heads if this is what you do to someone who has lost a loved one! Be ashamed, very ashamed. All media houses, you are only about sensationalizing even tragedy."

In another story, she said, "And actors/known personalities who are taking off their mask right near the media to be clicked, hang your head in shame too! Disgusted with everything that is going on. If you really wanna pay respect say a lil prayer for the departed soul, rather than making this an opportunity to be clicked! #Youknowwhoyouare #Sad." She further said, "I am sorry Sid! rest in peace super star." Gauahar, however, deleted the stories a few hours later.

Gauahar even called out celebrities for giving out personal details about Sidharth after meeting his family. She tweeted, "Any one who has met a grieving family ,should not give out details .Really sad to see people giving interviews about family members n sharing details .Stop !Please stop ! If Uve gone to pay ur respect don’t come out n become a khabri and add to the low standard of journalism"

Suyyash Rai wrote, "Please !!! Dear Media... It's brilliant how you guys come and be a part of our events and be a part of happiness and trust me we reallyyy reallly appreciate it and feel touched by that... but days like today when someone has lost their loved ones...you all should let them be...in their own space...and give them their time... with their loved ones to say a final goodbye in peace. It's heartbreaking to see them struggle just to step out of the car and reach there !! It's okay times to let it be! I know most of you are doing your jobs but it's a request from the bottom of my heart to let such events be just a family affair."

He also wrote in the following Instagram story, "Please Shehnaaz ko Sidnaaz ki naaz aur Maa ko sirf ek Ma rehnee do. Bas itni si request hai media se (Please let Shehnaaz be Sidnaaz's Naaz and his mother be just his mom. I have only this request to the media). Please let them be."

Disha Parmar wrote on Instagram Stories, "Shoving the camera in a grieving woman's face to get her reaction is the most insensitive thing ever!! Why is it so hard to understand!!!?? Unreal!!"

Reacting to a video of Shehnaaz being clicked by the paparazzi as she arrived for Sidharth's funeral, Zareen said, "My heart goes out to Shehnaaz, the poor girl looks completely broken. And at such a sensitive time, the media should show a little empathy towards her rather than behaving like heartless robots. I saw videos were she's crying uncontrollably but the media is just pushing her and shoving cameras and mikes on her face for a byte for their benefit. The whole scenario is compelling and heartbreaking! When did humans turn so heartless?"

Sidharth and Shehnaaz, even though they never officially announced themselves as a couple, always remained very emotionally close to each other. Sidharth passed away on Thursday at the age of 40 after suffering a massive cardiac arrest. His mortal remains were taken to Cooper Hospital. The last rites of the actor took place at the Oshiwara crematorium.
