Ending the dry spell at the box office, Akshay Kumar's BellBottom has become the first biggest Hindi film to release post the deadly second wave of COVID-19. The film shot right in the middle of the pandemic is based or inspired by a true event that took place in the '80s when late Mrs Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister. BellBottom is yet to release in a few states, including Maharashtra. Bollywood critics have given the espionage thriller a thumbs-up. Akshay's personal critic a.k.a Twinkle Khanna too gave her stamp of approval.
Akshay is currently in London to begin shooting for his next film, titled Cinderella. Twinkle is with him too. After completing their quarantine, Bollywood's star couple stepped out in the city to watch BellBottom. Twinkle shared a picture and wrote, "Looks like a walk in the park but we are actually heading to something even better, the screening of Mr K’s fabulous movie-Bellbottom!" She added the hashtag 'Must Watch' too.
Reacting to Twinkle's caption, Akshay added, "It feels like a walk in the park when she approves. #BellBottom is a #mustwatch, she said it, not me."
The producer of BellBottom, Deepshikha Deshmukh, wrote, "Yayy yayyy yayyy she approves."
BellBottom is directed by Ranjit M Tewari. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Huma Qureshi and Adil Hussain. BellBottom is presented by Pooja Entertainment presents in association with Emmay Entertainment. It is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani.
