We, at PeepingMoon.com were the first ones to bring the news that ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra is adding another feather to his cap and will soon be turning director for none-other-than best friend Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Now, after Janhvi Kapoor’s confirmation, Manish himself has announced his directorial venture.
Janhvi took to her Instagram stories to share a picture of her mother Sridevi kissing Manish and wrote, “@manishmalhotra05, on this new journey can’t wait for the world to see all the knowledge and love you have for films and see the magic that you create with it. It’s going to be special.”
Manish reposted Janhvi’s post on his Instagram story giving the affirmation of him donning the director’s hat. As per our sources, the film is going to be a dramatic musical love story set in the Partition era and will be mounted on a huge scale by Dharma.
The script and the screenplay has been penned by the fashion designer himself and it is being developed by the production house with the help of a historian. A source had previously told us, “It’s a solid script, one of the finest Dharma Productions has worked on, and everybody is very excited.”
