Salman Khan’s and Alvira Khan’s jewellery brand issues clarification against cheating case filed against them, says ‘they have nothing to do with it’

The Chandigarh Police on Friday had summoned Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan and six others following a cheating complaint filed by a local businessman, Arun Gupta. The complainant had alleged that he had opened an exclusive store under Salman’s jewellery brand and was assured all kinds of help for backup and promotion but none of it were fulfilled and even the goods were not delivered.

In response, to the complaint filed by Gupta, Style Quotient Jewellery Pvt Ltd (SQJPL) have issued a clarification assuring that neither the actor nor his sister are the parties to the MOU signed between the latter and the brand. The statement issued by SQJPL reads, “The current matter is between SQJPL and Modern Jewels alone as neither ‘Being Human –The Salman Khan Foundation’, Salman Khan, Alvira Khan nor any other representative of the Foundation are parties to the said MOU and they have nothing to do with it. In fact, Mr. Salman Khan is only the owner of the Brand “Being Human” and not even a trustee of the Being Human Foundation.”

It further reads, “We sincerely request Media houses to ascertain facts with the concerned authorities where the complaint has been registered before publishing or republishing any media article about this matter. We at SQJPL have already submitted a written response which clarifies all of the above. Since the matter is sub judice, we will not be able to comment more.”

In his complaint, Gupta had said that he was assured that Salman will promote the brand but nothing happened despite repeatedly contacting the company officials. He also claimed that the office which was to be used for collecting stock was also lying shut since February 2020. Gupta further claimed that he was assured that Salman will come himself for the inauguration of the showroom, but stated that his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma came instead.
