On Thursday, Kriti Sanon dropped the first look of her much-awaited film, Mimi, on social media. The Laxman Utekar directorial is expected to premiere on Disney+Hotstar in the month of July. Soon after the first look was unveiled, fans were curious to learn more about the film. Today, Kriti gave a sneak peek into Mimi.
In the teaser of Mimi, Kriti plays the role of an expecting mother. During the initial phase of her pregnancy, Kriti aka Mimi is happy and cheerful. However, her journey gets stressful when she is still awaiting her delivery date even in the 40th week of pregnancy. The trailer of Mimi will release on July 13. Sharing the teaser, Kriti wrote, "It’s nothing like what you’re expecting

Mimi is produced by Dinesh Vijan under his banner Maddock Films. It is based on the Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy! starring Urmila Kanitkar in the lead role. Apart from Kriti, Mimi stars Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak. Speaking of Mala Aai Vhhaychy!, the film was released in 2011 and went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi. It was written, directed and produced by Samruddhi Porey, an advocate.
