Boney Kapoor acquires the remake rights of Mammootty’s Malayalam hit ‘One’

Boney Kapoor has acquired the remake rights of Mammootty’s Malayalam hit One that released in 2021 for all Indian languages. A leading daily reported that the filmmaker is looking out to rope in a big and dependable actor to star in the film. As per reports it was Boney’s friend and Paras Publicity’s Rajesh Vasani who had suggested One to Boney.

Vasani told the daily, “We can proudly say that one Kapoor has captured the South industry now. Boney has made the super successful Vakeel Saab and more recently, the remake of Pink in Telugu with Pawan Kalyan. Soon, he will splash Ajith Kumar’s Valimai in Tamil. He is also going to remake Article 15 in Tamil with Udhayanidhi Stalin."

The Hindi remake of One is reportedly to go on floors in the first quarter of 2022. The film is a political drama and depicts the politics and governance ideologies and duties of an ideal Chief Minister. Mammootty played the lead role as the CM of Kerala, who undergoes a transformation and brings about a Right to Recall tool against corrupt ministers.

On the other hand, Boney is busy with wrapping up shoot of Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan and will commence the shoot of the Hindi remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Helen with daughter Janhvi Kapoor followed by Comali remake with son Arjun Kapoor headlining the film.
