Kangana Ranaut undergoes body and face scans, gears up to play former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in upcoming political drama

Kangana Ranaut who has been hitting the gym daily to prepare for her numerous upcoming projects has given a sneak peek into her work which has started in full swing. Taking to Instagram, the ace actress shared an update about her upcoming political drama where she will be seen essaying the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

In the pictures, Kangana can be seen going through body cams for the lead role at her production office. She captioned the pictures, “Every character is a beautiful beginning of a new journey, today we started journey of #Emergency #Indira with body, face scans and casts to get the look right. Many amazing artists get together to bring one’s vision alive on screen…. This one will be very special @manikarnikafilms.”

Kangana had announced the film previously but cleared the air that the film isn’t a biopic. Without announcing the name, she had said in a statement, “Yes, we are working on the project and the script is in final stages. It is not the biopic of Indira Gandhi, it is a grand period film, to be precise a political drama that will help my generation to understand (the) socio-political landscape of current India.”

The film will be helmed by Sai Kabir and will be based on a book that features the Emergency and the Operation Blue Star. Kangana is producing the film under her production banner Manikarnika Films. Apart from this, the actress has several lucrative projects in her kitty, such as Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda, Tejas and action flick Dhaakad.
