On June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide. He was 34. Today, it is his 1st death anniversary. Fans across the world are remembering their favourite actor and offering prayers for him. As his friends and loved ones are remembering Sushant, Ankita Lokhande hosted a small puja at home on Sunday.
Ankita ended her temporary social media break on Sunday and shared a video from the puja on her Instagram stories. Though the actress wasn't visible, a person could be seen setting up the holy fire for the prayers. Ankita offered prayers with chants of Om playing in the background.
Ankita met Sushant for the first time on Pavitra Rishta sets in 2009. They dated each other for almost 6 years. After Sushant's shocking and untimely demise, Ankita was seen visiting his bereaved family at the actor's Mumbai residence. As the family was dealing with the irreplaceable loss, Ankita extended support to them on social media.
On Pavitra Rishta's 12th anniversary, Ankita hosted a live session for her fans. She remembered Sushant and said, "Sushant aaj hamare beech nahi hai, uske bina Pavitra Rishta adhoora hai. Archana ka Manav sirf Sushant tha. I'm sure vo jahaan bhi hai vahaan dekh raha hai. I hope he is happy wherever he is." She also told, "Sushant taught me to act, I knew nothing. I was junior and he was very senior. He was a brilliant actor, brilliant co-star and I am very fortunate to work with him."
