'Mukti Bhawan' actor Lalit Behl passes away of COVID-19 complications; Sayani Gupta, Ranvir Shorey and Adil Hussain mourn the loss

Veteran actor-director Lalit Behl passed away of COVID-19 related complications in Delhi on Friday (April 23). He breathed his last at Apollo Hospital in the capital. The Mukti Bhawan actor was 71 years old and had contracted Coronavirus last week. His condition worsened because of his medical history. He had heart ailments. Several celebrities, who had worked with the late actor-director, posted condolences on social media.

Lalit Behl's son Kanu spoke to a news agency and confirmed the news as he said, “He passed away in the afternoon. He had a history of heart ailments and had COVID, so it got complicated. He had an infection in his lungs which got severe and that, with the previous medical history he had, complicated his health further.”

After learning about the sad news, Sayani Gupta, Ranvir Shorey, Adil Hussain mourned his death and penned heartfelt tribute for the late actor.

Sayani wrote, “This is just horrid. So sorry  @KanuBehl   We lost two incredible artists today!  Lalit Behl and Amit Mistry.  This just keeps getting worse”

Adil also expressed his grief by saying, “Extremely saddened by the demise of one of my dearest and most respected Co-actors, Lalit Behl jee. Who, so brilliantly played the father in  @MuktiBhawan ! I feel the loss of my father again! Dear Kanu I am so  very sorry for your loss!”

While Ranvir offered condolence as he wrote, “Shattered to read this. So many memories. He was warm and affectionate and wise. Learnt so much from him. Heartfelt condolences to the family,  @KanuBehl. Hug.” 

Hansal Mehta also expressed his grief over the sad news.

Recently, other stars like music composer Shravan Rathod and Kishore Nandlaskar passed away due to COVID-19 related issues.
