Official Statement! Karan Johar's Dharma Productions decides to maintain 'dignified silence', to recast 'Dostana 2'

PeepingMoon.com was the first to break the news that Kartik Aaryan will be replaced in Dharma Productions' big-budget film Dostana 2 for the actor's “unprofessional behaviour”. The renowned production house has vowed to never work with Kartik who was last seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019). Now, Dharma Productions, owned by ace filmmaker Karan Johar, has issued a statement on Kartik's exit from the much-awaited project that also stars Janhvi Kapoor and newcomer Lakshya in the lead. 

Dharma Productions, in the statement, said that they will maintain a "dignified silence" on Kartik's exit and will be recasting. "Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence- we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D'Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon," read the statement.

According to PeepingMoon sources, Kartik's exit from Dostana 2 has given Dharma Productions a setback worth Rs. 20 crore. As per our sources, Kartik started having issues with the film after he broke up with his co-star Janhvi, whom he was said to be dating. Reliable sources claim that Kartik's actions indicated that he didn't want to share the screen space with the actress anymore. 

Prior to Janhvi, Kartik was said to be dating his Love Aaj Kal co-star Sara Ali Khan. Fans of the couple went on to call them SarTik and are still rooting for the pair.
